Pakistan Forces Kill 67 Afghan Taliban in Operation Ghazab lil Haq Border Clashes

Pakistan’s Operation Ghazab lil Haq results in the death of 67 Afghan Taliban fighters following intense overnight border clashes across Balochistan and KP.

Border Clashes Escalate

The border separating Pakistan and Afghanistan witnessed intense military engagements overnight as Pakistani security forces repelled a coordinated series of incursions by the Afghan Taliban. Early Tuesday morning, government officials confirmed the elimination of 67 Taliban combatants across 16 distinct engagement zones. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar noted that an additional 40 militants were killed in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sector, where hostile fire and physical assault attempts were successfully neutralized without domestic military casualties.

Operation Ghazab lil Haq

These violent exchanges fall under the umbrella of ‘Operation Ghazab lil Haq,’ a sweeping counter-offensive initiated by Islamabad on February 26 to stem militant raids. The conflict has severely impacted Northern Balochistan, specifically within the Chaman, Noshki, and Qilla Saifullah districts. According to the government, Taliban units assaulted 16 outposts and fired upon 25 separate troop locations. Pakistani forces successfully defended their positions, resulting in 27 militant fatalities and numerous injuries, alongside the loss of one Frontier Corps soldier and injuries to five others.

Broadening Retaliation

The overarching statistics of the operation point to a massive escalation. Official statements indicate that prior to Tuesday’s update, the Pakistani military had already inflicted 435 fatalities and 630 injuries upon Taliban forces. The campaign has also resulted in the destruction of 188 armored vehicles, the seizure of 31 militant outposts, and over 50 precision airstrikes within Afghan territory. State media reported that these aerial bombardments successfully obliterated the Khogani operational base in Nangarhar province, signaling Islamabad’s commitment to continuing the offensive until absolute security is restored.
