NHAI revises FASTag Annual Pass fee to ₹3,075 for FY 2026-27. The pass offers one-year validity or 200 toll crossings for non-commercial vehicles.New rates effective from April 1, 2026; over 56 lakh private vehicle owners already utilizing the one-time payment facility.

Implementation of Updated Fee Structure

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has officially announced a scheduled revision for the FASTag Annual Pass fee. Starting from the new financial year on April 1, 2026, the cost of the pass will increase from the current ₹3,000 to ₹3,075 for FY 2026–27. This adjustment has been conducted in strict accordance with the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, ensuring that tolling remains consistent with statutory inflationary and maintenance guidelines.

Eligibility and Network Scope

The revised annual rate is specifically applicable to non-commercial, private vehicles equipped with a functional FASTag. This facility is currently operational across a vast network of approximately 1,150 fee plazas situated on National Highways and National Expressways nationwide. The annual pass is designed to simplify highway travel by replacing frequent recharges with a single, annual transaction.

Features of the Annual Pass Facility

Since its launch in August 2025, the Annual Pass has gained significant traction due to its “pay-once, travel-often” model. Key features include:

  • Validity Thresholds: The pass remains valid for a full calendar year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever occurs first.
  • Rapid Activation: Upon successful payment, the pass is activated on the vehicle’s linked FASTag within two hours.
  • Simplified Access: Users can purchase or renew the pass directly via the official NHAI website or the dedicated “Rajmarg Yatra” mobile application.

Market Adoption and Convenience

The program has seen rapid adoption, with the user base surpassing 56 lakh individuals. By eliminating the need for recurring digital wallet top-ups and providing a predictable travel expense for frequent commuters, the NHAI aims to reduce congestion at toll booths and improve the overall efficiency of the national transit system. The authority noted that the overwhelming response highlights the growing preference for digital, cost-effective travel solutions among Indian motorists.
